Meet Fugen's new Admin, Necroticah brings his ideas to the front. "That trio taught me the greatest thing - that gaming should be recognized not only as a pass-time - but as a teacher too."

Fugen IT Starcraft II welcomes Necroticah, the site's new Admin and with him comes great ideas for future upcoming events.

Necroticah

I have been with StarCraft II since the release. I have followed most of the major tournaments in detail and hope to be a major contender in Tournament Organization in South Africa. I come forth to lend my time to the South African StarCraft II scene and to help the gamer get his deserved name.

I have a loving wife and the most amazing kid in the world. They are my everything and my life, if it wasn't for them, there would be no Necroticah.

The name Necroticah came from the days I played RPGs and I needed to bring my fascination of Necromancers and Clerics to a female frame, hence "Necroticah" was born so to speak. My wife adopted the name to her modelling career, so in the future she will be the real Necroticah and I will just be a fanboy.

Gaming Background

Thanks to my older brother, Vampirnata, of 8 eight years I have the following story to tell:

Ever since a tiny-tyke, I have been dabbling in computer games. My fondest memories come from the trio of games that shaped my vision on the future:

zeliardZeliard - a fantastic platform-jumping, RPG-esque adventure game gave him the insight to raising a character from low-levels into a powerful warrior. The satisfaction of going through eight uniquely designed levels and fighting a boss at the end of each was unparalled.

Till this day, the music from Zeliard rings in my ears.

In this Turn-based strategy game, you are low-time outlaw vying for civilian support and the objective to gain enough army strength to attain approval of the Emperor, Hui Zhong. The evil Gao Qiu, an evil judge of Ancient China has assumed control of a large part of it and you are the only one that can stop him. Well. you and a bunch of Barbarians that eventually invade China in 1127 AD.

I admit to still play Bandit Kings of Ancient China once in awhile.

dune2Lastly, to complete my child-hood games, Dune 2: The Battle of Arrakis destroyed any time I had during the weekends. Even during the '94 Football World Cup Finals, I sat and played Dune 2 - that vision lies with me and will never fade. I'm pretty sure I don't need to introduce any gamer out there to the wonderful world of what used to be Dune 2. "Dune 2? 'nuff said."

Ordos were my favourite purely based on colour. They actually sucked as a race.

That trio taught me the greatest thing - that gaming should be recognized not only as a pass-time - but as a teacher too. The things I learnt from gaming were that if you work hard achieving your goal, you'll get there; or if you sit-down and take your time to deeply think on how to solve your problem, you'll solve it; or if you have no time, no way of controlling many things at once, or no sense of direction, just look upon your mentat for guidance. These games opened up the gateway to one of the greatest things to come:

This wonderful game paved the way for all of us. Who here did not play Starcraft or Broodwar, I ask? The unique and diverse world that Blizzard gave us is unbelievable. Do you still think about how awesome those Dark Archons were? Or that Reaver crawling along the battlefield scaring kids into oblivion, after all, most of us were just kids when we first laid our gripey paws on Starcraft. Now Starcraft has bowed its final bow in my books, I am here to take the StarCraft 2 Challenge - make it the greatest known to existence. Welcome to South Africa!

I will bring tournaments in the future. Watch this space as there will be exciting things happening. My ideas are bursting forth within me and you, our reader, will benefit every second.

There will always be things to break you down, but as I always say:
